We only went to 2 places in Belize and to be honest, that was enough. Belize was a let down and likely the country I liked the least. While the snorkeling/diving is breathtaking, there didn’t seem to be much else on offer. I’d go back for more snorkeling and diving, but that’s about it. Somehow we managed to keep costs low and within my $35/day budget but we also didn’t do all that much while there. Caye Caulker and Placencia were the 2 places we stayed in and we spent most of the time in the water. Caye Caulker is cool, but gets old rather quickly, and it’s not cheap, but we made it work. Placencia is pretty but was ruined by a seaweed infestation so we couldn’t appreciate it as much as we would have liked.
